Dance away the winter blues at Backroads Saloon

If the cold and gray days of Michigan winters get you down, Backroads Saloon is a great place to dance the blues away and meet some great people.  The ages of dancers range from 10 to 80 and they're all there to have fun and feed their need to move to the music.

Backroads has three great instructors, each with a passion for dancing and a love of teaching.  They teach line dances (where you don't need a partner) to Modern & Classic Country four nights a week and on Fridays, they line dance to Rock & Pop tunes.

Never danced before?  No problem because Tuesday and Thursday nights Backroads caters to beginners.  Are you an experienced dancer?  If so, Wednesday nights' Intermediate classes are for you.  Interested in learning couple’s pattern classes, then Tuesday & Saturday nights are your weekly date nights.  Friday nights are line dance lessons to Rock & Pop tunes and Saturday nights are open dance prior to the live entertainment and a great time to practice what you learned.

Bringing years of experience to Backroads is the Lead instructor, Sally Shock.  Sally has a passion for dancing and instructing and is known to be able to teach anyone to dance.  She's been teaching dance since 1992 and husband Merle, assists her with the couple’s lessons.  Bob Meredith, our Thursday night Beginners instructor began teaching in 1996.  Deb Zimmerman loves all genres of music and teaches our Friday night Rock & Pop Line Dance lessons.
